Windsor Chairs: The Art of Hand-Tooled Furniture Making 
with David Wright
David Wright has been working professionally since 1987. He is known as a Windsor Chair Maker, producing hundreds of Windsor chairs as well as lecturing and teaching to countless many throughout the U.S. He has taught to woodworking schools, guilds and museums as well as demonstrating for "The Woodworking Shows." Presently he is heading up the furniture design program for the Kentucky School of Craft. His work has been exhibited and included in several private and public collections.
Class Description
Using green wood straight from the log, students will learn by building a Sack-Back Windsor arm chair. Armed with basic chair making hand tools, such as drawknives, spoke shaves and scorps, students will carve seats, shape spindles, steam bend arms and turn legs and stretchers.
This workshop covers basic chair making with demonstrations in each of the specialized areas. This is a much needed class to round out those woodworking skills.
