Style Projects 
In this popular class each participant
may choose a project from five options. All projects
are
of a
simple
and
straight forward Shaker style that fit into a variety
of settings. The design emphasis are on proportions
and traditional joinery with an eye toward
utility and choice of wood to create visual harmony.
Each project leaves some room for individualized variations.

You will learn a bit about Shaker history and how the
Shaker lifestyle shaped the design and construction preferences
of Shaker furniture.
There will be class demonstrations each day as well as
lots of individual instruction.
* If you wish to learn more about the Shakers and to see
some fine examples of original Shaker furniture, plan to
visit Shakertown at Pleasant Hill, KY. Shakertown is approximately
50 miles from Berea and is one of the finest historic examples
of a preserved Shaker village. Self-guided tours are available.
The countryside surrounding Shakertown is picturesque and
varied. The area is a mecca for antique shoppers as well.
