The materials fee of $165 will be payable directly to Peter - please bring a check with you. ($110 for the turnings, $30 for the seat, and $25 for the white oak)

Please Bring:

  1. Drawknife- an old one is fine if it is tuned up. Barr Tools has a good one that comes sharp. It is his chair-makers drawknife # DKCB (Pete will have extras on hand)

  2. Spoke shave

  3. Scorp- Barr Tools makes a good one called the Mike Dunbar style scorp

  4. Bevel square

  5. Combination square

  6. Dead blow hammer

  7. Scrapers - curved and card

  8. Pencils, Notebook and Camera

  9. Poster board for copying patterns


Optional: (don't feel like you need to run out and buy these)

  1. Hand saw

  2. Folding rule with extension

  3. Work gloves

  4. Travisher- try handtoolwoodworking.com  Pete will have some extras

  5. 6 degree reamer- you can make your own or get one from handtoolwoodworking.com Pete will also have some extras.

  6. Bevel boss

  7. Protractor- a plastic one will do

  8. Large flat carving gouge

  9. Small carving gouge or veiner for carving the 1/4" + or - gutter in the seat (11/7 Sweep is good)

  10. Quick action clamps

  11. Cordless Drill

  12. Awl

  13. Small Handplane

  14. Froe

  15. Heat Gun

My tools recommendations are just that, recommendations. Other tools can work just fine. I will have a few extra tools to share such as drawknives, spokeshaves and scorps.

 

A fully catered lunch is served every day and drinks and snacks are provided all day. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs.
